LAKE CITY, La. (AP) - A Louisiana man has been arrested after a 13-year-old boy was struck and killed as he walked along a road early Thanksgiving morning.
News outlets reported that Kyrin Pete of Lake Charles was walking with two other people when he was struck by a driver. The boy was taken to a hospital where he died.
Louisiana State Police say 33-year-old Jacob Ryan Hebert of Lafayette has been arrested and charged with vehicular homicide and driving while impaired.
The crash is still under investigation. Toxicology samples are being analyzed.
It was not known if Herbert has an attorney yet who could comment on the charges.
